A summary of the main activities to be undertaken is provided below:

  • Contribute to the Design For Support (DFS) requirements in the KCs, ILS lead, particularly on Logistics, Reliability, Maintainability and supportability elements.
  • Contribute towards the generation of the key documentation required throughout CDP to support the development of the Support Solution and in preparation for Support Main Gate submission.
  • Contribute to the support elements review / negotiation of the D&B contract where required
  • Stakeholder engagement and management within DE&S and NCHQ DLOD representatives, socialise support strategies and plans, gaining approval and buy-in as appropriate. Key meetings include; Support Delivery Working Group (SDWG), monthly SEOC and ilog meetings.
  • Provide the T31e Support team management activities, schedules and resources to the T31e Delivery Team Project Management team and Support Approval Authority
  • Contributing to the development of the T31e Pricing Schedule and the scope of costs
  • Contributing to the development of the T31e Through Life Cost Model
  • Support the generation of support assurance activities, and production of the T31e Support Solution Development Tool (SSDT)
  • For each of the design proposals during the CDP the role shall:
    • Review and analyse Bidder Technical Documentation
    • Respond to support related Clarification Questions (CQs)
    • Provide feedback to key stakeholders (DLODS) as required
    • Attend bidder engagement meetings/briefings as required
    • Evaluate final bidder proposal
    • Contribute to T31e team meetings, workshops and other activities as required

Type 31e GFX Lead

A summary of the main activities to be undertaken is provided below:

  • GFX Management Plan - Produce and maintain the Authority’s T31e D&B GFX Management Plan.
  • Support to Supplier Agreements and Assumption Management
  • Provide programme support to the Requirements Manager and T31e technical domain leads (Combat System, Platform, Marine) in engaging with MoD GFX equipment programme and facility managers in order to populate the Supplier Agreement template.
  • Support ongoing liaison with equipment project teams to maintain the Supplier Agreements, ensuring they are reviewed and revalidated with the equipment teams as they are refined.
  • Support the maintenance of Programme’s Cost model for GFX equipment/ services, aligning cost estimates with those sourced from equipment teams (covering D&B and In-service costs) and reflecting the demarcation of funding owners agreed via Supplier Agreements.
  • GFX Schedule Management - For the agreed T31e GFX baseline, generate T31e GFX Delivery Dashboard and supporting data to share with all stakeholders via appropriate shared stakeholder portal.
  • GFX Risk Management - Support the T31e Risk Manager in the maintenance of GFX related risks and mitigations. Support the technical teams in the generation and maintenance of equipment specific GFX risks and associated mitigations.

A summary of the main activities to be undertaken is provided below:

  • Contribute to the Design For Support (DFS) requirements in the KCs and ILS Specification, leading on the Training, Manning, Maintainability and Operability aspects for Technical and Deliverability assessments.
  • T31e Delivery Team author of the Training Management Plan (TMP) and Basic Manning Requirements (BMR) Data Item Documents (DIDs) including updating and reviewing the TMP/BMR and peer reviewing other support related DIDs as required including the evaluation and assessment of tenderer compliance.
  • T31e Delivery Team requirements owner/author of the T31e Anthropometric Policy, updating as required.
  • Own the Evaluation Criteria (ECs) to enable a Support Assessment to be conducted which provides assurance that the design meets Operability, maintainability and habitability requirements.
  • Stakeholder engagement and management within DE&S and NCHQ DLOD representatives; acting as the T31e Delivery Team representative at the P&T Working Group, and member of the Support Delivery Working Group (SDWG)
  • Contributing to the development of the T31e Pricing Schedule (primarily the manning and training costs).

Type 31e Communications Specialist

A summary of the main activities to be undertaken is provided below:

  • Produce monthly written status reports for all Communications functional areas. This shall include technical design and programme coherence reporting on GFX and the procured equipment for the domain area of responsibility (e.g. GFX communications sub-systems and procured elements).
  • Support the Independent Cost Review team with inquiries in the Communications domain. Assistance must be provided when required as they will provide SME advice in this area. This task will be supported by a CAAS SME, specific to this area of cost, and co-ordinated by the T31e Team.
  • Manage Stakeholder inputs to the Man Gate assurance and scrutiny process. Provide written and verbal brief to CSAA.
  • Review of the CDRLs, EC’s, Design Reviews and fulfilment of the T31e Risks, 3OAs, 4OAs and MDAL for the domain area of responsibility; throughout CDP & D&B phase.
  • Support the MOD’s evaluation of the 3 CDP bids against the Key requirements, predominantly within their area of responsibility but also including other aspects of the Combat System.
  • Assist and facilitate updates to the “Supply Agreements” for CSAA to obtain signature between T31e Project and the relevant MoD project teams for each GFX system in their domain area of responsibility.
  • Assessment of the proposed designs for communications procurable system and sub-systems and recommendations (to MOD) for potential cost savings, innovative use of the technology and ways to future proof the design.
  • Review risk register against delegations on a monthly basis and submit risk forms as required for review in time for monthly risk meetings

Lead Solutions Architect

Supporting our public sector customer, you will operate client-side within the project team, as technical lead for the project. You will define, realise and manage all functional, non-functional requirements, manage emerging technical debt, ensure prioritisation of solutions technical requirements. You own technical solution, including solutions technical components, code and infrastructure, and third-party licenses/services, ensuring the solution's resilience and performance.

Essential Skills:

  • Comprehensive experience of solution architecture and demonstrable success aligning IT with business, managing the delivery of associated technical services, solutions and architectures, and the associated technologies and architectural artefacts
  • Familiarity of modern open source development tools and languages (e.g: Java / Typescript / .net) running on cloud platforms such as AWS.
  • Recognised skills in software engineering, dev ops, platform engineering and delivering cloud-based services.
  • Thorough understanding of and experience of working within the software development lifecycle using agile delivery techniques
  • Experience of leading teams of developers from a technical and design perspective.
